Hanare Japanese Restaurant : Intermark Mall

So I've google-ed and browse for a perfect Japanese fine dine and mostly through blogs. There were few restaurant in my list and ends up with Hanare as my choice. It's a special day which i have high expectation on the restaurant i pick for Fatty birthday because most of the reviews are positive, only minor critics were given.

Hanare located inside Intermark, the same building i had Onsemiro if you notice from my previous entry. Cozy and comfy ambience, abit shady under those deam lighting. Various tableware placed in the restaurant, even chopsticks are not only coupled with a patterned wrapping but also tied elegantly with a bow.

Their fresh hand picked seasonal items are air-flown in daily from the famous Tsukiji Market in Tokyo, so eaters are assured of only the best as what i seen from bloggers review. Never know till you try it yourself. So now is my time to enjoy this fresh and hopefully scrumptious Japanese dining.

Ume Kaisaki set had the most raw ingredients served, even the Zensai (appetizers). As for the sashimi, i thought they would ask us what type of sashimi we wanted, but no they just served us with what they had. Not a good first impression for my opinion. Even the waiter that served us doesn't even speak proper english, poor communication is the major factor i dislike about this restaurant, despite being stingy on hiring a local worker, at least give them a standard and proper training before come out and served people. You put your name "Hanare" on the stake for christ sake. Not trying to offend but it's the fact and i think they should improve on this issue.

They served zensai in cold which i think it's very refreshing as a starter. 2 types of appetizers were served. One of it was baby squid with a touch of sweet bud, and i had no idea what the other one is. Another weak point for this restaurant, the waiter don't even bother introducing their dishes, perhaps they don't even know what they carry. Well, there goes fine dine service by Hanare.

Sashimi

The portion for the claypot rice is extremely small. Even i could finish the whole thing, so its a no for heavy eater. You can even forget about ordering this dish. The rice even come out so dry, now i know the reason why they served rice with miso soup as you get thirst.

I love this one - Nimono. Mushroom, radish, carrot the ingredients was fully absorb by the stock at the bottom of the bowl. Sweet and saltee at the same time. Very well presented, same goes to the taste. I like it!

Nimono - simmered dish

As for Agemono, it would be better if they served us the dipping sauce as those we eat tempura with. Too dry and too much breadcrumb, too airy. Cant even taste the filling.

Agemono - deep fried fish

I went for teppanyaki because i love grilled/pan fried food, and teppanyaki always served along with assorted vegetables which bring balance to the dish which wont covered the whole plate with only meat. Im aiming on the salmon which is rich with Vitamin D good for bone growth, its very important because the bone support your body. Meanwhile it's Omega-3 attract me the most, does anyone know omega 3 can reduce abdominal fat and increase brain function?(walnut do the same). As much as i love cod fish, salmon has more benefits that a lady need. Ok, back to the topic, the salmon was slightly overcooked kinda dry when you try to chew, not 100% satisfied. Other than that, the scallops and shrimp was okay. Doesn't trigger me to get another plate, i guess i'm paying too high expectation because it's a fine dine, everything must be perfect.

Teppanyaki Oysters, Scallops, Prawns & Salmon

I love their kani salad, very well balance with the red cabbage. I can see very high nutrients within this very small bowl of vege!! One of my favorite.

Kani Salad - crab meat salad

Chawan mushi, a must comment statement, extremely small portion. Only a quarter from the original served cup. Imagine that! reckon it around 3 tablespoon. My goodness, i know fine dine mostly served small portion of dish, but this is way too over. Evidently proving this is fine dine, and this is what you get.

Chawan Mushi - steamed egg custard

As for the garlic fried rice, honestly not the best i've had but it's still attractively emerged in terms of fragrance. Kiraku teppanyaki garlic fried rice is the best i've had at the moment, click HERE to view my KIRAKU post entry.

Garlic Fried Rice

Yasai - mixed vegetables

Matcha pudding, with vanilla ice cream, very chill and refreshing. With a touch of sugar cane syrup it does make the dessert way more sweet. Fan for this one.

Soft Shell Crab Temaki RM 25.00 Grilled Salmon and Ikura Temaki RM 25.00

Unagi Kabayaki RM 65.00

Must ordered item was their Unagi (eel), sweet and delightful in the same time. Nonetheless, the price are extremely over the hill. Fatty enjoyed this the most, our main dish was not so pleasant. As for the temaki, the soft shell crab was not crispy at all, and tasteless. As for the salmon and ikura temaki, i would just rate 6/10. Not every japanese restaurant successful to bring up a good temaki, no exception for Hanare as well.

My bill came out with a total damage of 406.00 include Gov tax and service charge.

P/S : When i try to ask for a private room, it cost RM30 additional, wth..

Will i come back? MAYBE, im generous to give them a second chance.
